Spotkick
This is not something I thought I would be working on this year, but two worlds collided and I guess this will have to materialise. What are the two worlds you may ask?
I will keep the first one under wraps, but the second reality is that I am an SC Villa fan but there’s no way for us, the club members1 to keep “in touch” with the club. Yes, we can use social media but that just does not feel right! Every serious club has an “official” app - a platform for official team & match news, tickets etc. Actually until recently, I thought we had one, and it took the imposing void of the “No results found” page on the Google PlayStore to bring me back to reality.
There’s no reason why the most successful club in Ugandan history does not have one! How else am I supposed to know that our club captain David “Colgate” Owori is moving to the English Premier League, or even get access to exclusive video interviews etc.
Enter Spotkick!
Spotkick2 is my answer to this! Now, I have no plans to partner with my club on this but you know what I can do - I can definitely pitch this to my high school league. I am still working on giving this idea an identity but the gist is that we aim to make it easy for small teams to engage with their fans.
Yeah, that’s basically it. Currently putting in some work for a v1. Need this thing out in the wild, like yesterday!!!!!
